Products

Stylus Metrics has developed a number of products for use in the Engineering, Software Development and Oil & Gas industries as well as for general business. These products are based on our Health Care products which we've matured over the years.

Stylus Net Suite (SeNSe)

The SeNSe Net Suite is an activity tracking system based on our successful Academic Medical Mobile Record System (AM-MRS) and Member Information System applications.

SeNSe is web-enabled and operable in internet, intranet, ASP environments for maximum flexibility.

The purpose of SeNSe is to enable efficient tracking of inputs (e.g. time, named resources, costs, appointments/calendaring, other user defined metrics) and outputs (e.g. named deliverables, sales, other user defined metrics) related to resources invested in projects and/or day to day activities.

SeNSe was rigorously developed in accordance with Stylus Metrics’ Design Principles for web-enabled and/or PDA-based information collection systems.

SeNSe value for dollar is realized through enabling more evidence-based and efficient:
  • Process analysis and reengineering
  • Resource input tracking for costing/pricing
  • Linkage of inputs to results for performance management
  • Dynamic customization for complex projects and organizations

SeNSe provides the following functions:

  • User Management with role based access control on available functionality per project.
  • User/Client User differentiation - allows client to see a "Client" version of the same project detail.
  • Multi-tiered Project, Activity, & Detail levels of data capture for time sheet entry with various time tracking reports already built.
  • Integrated cost tracking on project basis using default, client specific of project specific resource costing..
  • Integrated file sharing for User/Client Users based on project role access.
  • Integrated bug/issue tracking for projects with User/Client User project role based access.
  • Integrated appointments/calendaring with client/project role based access.
  • Adhoc reporting available with OPUS.
  • Coming Soon - Integrated expense management with client/project role based access.
  • Coming Soon - Integrated purchase order management with client/project role based access.
  • Coming Soon - Integrated customer relationship management for internal users - currently available as separate application.

Generic Data Collection Suite (GDC) V1.0

The Generic Data Collection Software suite (GDC) allows a user to design a hierarchy of data collection points , upload them to the PDA and retrieve the data to a database. GDC allows data to be collected on site in a consistent manner and reduces the chances of data entry error when measurements are transfered from paper to electronic databases.

Gas Measurement Data Collection Suite (GMDC) V2.0

The Gas Measurement Data Collection Software suite (GMDC) is a specialised version of the Generic Data Collection suite and provides additional, gas measurement specific, functionality. The GMDC has both a Palm and a Pocket PC version. The Pocket PC version, based on the Palm version was completed in early 2005 and includes a naive volume calculation on the PDA as well as synchronization based on a web based interface - this means that by changing the web interface, we can export data directly to any backend database directly or generate a comma separated file to allow current processes to be used.

Mini Modbus Master V1.0 (MMM for PalmOS)

The Mini Modbus Master is designed to support field personnel in commissioning and maintenance of RTU’s and eliminates the need for bulky laptops or other equipment used in the field.

The development of the Mini Modbus Master is part of Stylus Metrics’ strategy to provide mobile solutions for data collection requirements and will eventually be merged with the GMDC to provide a complete solution for Drive-By SCADA.

The Mini Modbus Master is available on all hand-held Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) running v3.5 or later of the Palm operating system with a flash ROM which contains a device ID e.g. Palm III, IIIc, IIIx, IIIxe, V, Vx, VII, VIIx, m500 and m505. While other devices, such as the IBM® WorkPad™ series may have the capability, this has not been verified. Other features are as follows:

  • Flow control available is hardware based (RTS/CTS) as PalmOS currently does not support XON/XOFF.
  • The standard serial HotSync cable is used — plugs in to the back of the Palm.
  • Both ASCII and RTU Modes are supported.
  • Various function codes are currently supported: (1 to 4, i.e. Read Coil Status, Read Input Status, Read Holding Register, and Read Input Register).
  • The Mini Modbus Master supports communications settings such as baud rate (1,200 bps to 115,200 bps), Flow Control (None, RTS, CTS, RTS/CTS), Stop Bits (0,1,2), Data Bits (5 to 8), Parity (None, Odd, Even)

The operator has the option of displaying data in various formats:
  • Raw—one register displayed in Hex
  • Single—one register interpreted as a 16 bit integer value
  • 32 Bit Float— 2 registers interpreted as a 32 bit floating value.

The Mini Modbus Master has been tested against various RTU’s to ensure quirks of different implementations are not problematic.

SCADAPack History V1.0 (SPHist for PalmOS)

SPHist V1.0 for PalmOS is based on the Modbus driver developed for the MMM. The SPHist was written to demonstrate full Gas Measurement History extraction as well as configuration for a specific RTU. The software was developed for the ScadaPack Lite and provides the following functions:

  • Historical data downloads, AGA3 and AGA8 upload and download implemented for Modbus devices which use continuous blocks of registers for historical and configuration data.
  • Historical data can be downloaded and stored for a number of stations and runs (3 kBytes used for approximately 35 days for the ScadaPack Lite—12 floats per day)
  • Device type selection allows vendor specific register configuration for the history downloads.
  • Device username and password configuration for RTU which require passwords.

Mini RTU Master V1.0 (MRM for Windows CE)

The Mini RTU Master is based on the MMM for PalmOS and was designed to allow multiple protocols to be supported - not just Modbus. This means that a single PDA can support data collection from different device types within the same application. The MRM supports all the functionality currently supported by the MMM for PalmOS.
